The basic structure of M7 racks consists of frames, beams and shelves. These parts provide the storage system with the robustness and stability needed to multiple heavy and unwieldy loads.
The shelves constitute the flat surfaces that support goods on the various storage levels. Shelves can be placed on beams or supports and come in different materials and finishes.
M7 heavy duty racks include numerous safety features (some standard, others optional). They ensure the storage system’s stability and help prevent accidents that could affect operators or the goods stored.
Frames
Vertical elements comprising two uprights connected by diagonal bracing, onto which the beams are fitted.
Beams
Horizontal elements that support the shelves. Beams are joined to the uprights by connectors or clips. There are two types of beams: stamped and welded.
Frame footplates
Frames are fixed to the floor via footplates, which are fitted to the base of the uprights. Different types of frame footplates are available depending on the upright model.
Shims (levelling plates)
Elements used to level racks installed on an irregular floor surface. Different shims are available for each upright model. They have different thicknesses for greater levelling precision.
Anchor bolts
Components that secure the frame uprights to the floor. Anchor bolts vary depending on the strain the racking must bear and the characteristics of the floor.
Frame unions
Steel parts used to join double-sided racks, giving them greater cross-aisle stability.
Frame splices
Elements that join two uprights vertically. They are used when single-piece frame uprights cannot span the entire height of the storage system.
Portal ties
Parts used to connect the top of the racking units when their height calls for superior cross-aisle stability. Portal ties are installed when the height is seven times greater than the depth.
Galvanised shelves
These rest on the beams. Each level contains several shelves of varying widths depending on the length of the level and the weight of the load to be stored.
Chipboard shelves
These are fitted between the beams. Their thickness and dimensions are tailored to the type of load each level must bear.
Double-deep chipboard shelving
Shelves consisting of a single chipboard panel for very deep levels. The structure is reinforced by two beams placed in the centre.
Mesh shelves
Rectangular metal grids welded onto cross-ties. They rest on the beams and facilitate the ventilation of the stored goods and water flow if the fire safety system is activated.
HM shelves
Made of single-piece galvanised sheet metal, these are used in levels comprising only shelves and supports (without beams).
Safety pins
Metal parts inserted into the corresponding slot of each beam connector to prevent accidental displacement.
Side and rear mesh
Mesh panels that enclose the racks. They protect the stored goods and prevent products from falling or mixing with those on other levels.
Chipboard side panels
Panels that prevent stored merchandise from falling or mixing with products on other levels. They provide the racks with an attractive finish.
Vertical cross bracing
Tubular profiles with specially shaped ends. These braces are installed in racks with HM shelves to ensure down-aisle stability.
HD beams
Components used to strengthen the stiffness and down-aisle stability of high-bay racking with HM shelves (without beams). These beams can also be used to increase the load capacity of the shelves.
Safe load warning notices
Signs detailing the storage system’s technical characteristics (maximum weight, height, etc.). These signage plates are placed in clearly visible areas on the ends of the racks.

Panels fitted into their respective shelves with two upper and two lower clamps. They are used to create compartments within the same storage level.
HM shelf dividers
Panels fitted into the slots of the shelves. They can be attached to the top and bottom shelves (dividing the total height) or the bottom shelf only.
Hanger tubes
Components for storing hanging items, ensuring they do not protrude beyond the frame dimensions. They can be single or double.
Signs
Rectangular plates attached to the ends of the racks, identifying them with letters or numbers.
Magnetic label holders
Magnetised plastic profiles fitted to the front of HD shelves to indicate levels, compartments within the levels, or the products stored.
