Mecalux will unveil its most recent technological innovations at Robotics and Automation, the UK trade fair that brings together logistics professionals seeking solutions to future challenges. The event will take place on 19-20 March 2024 in Birmingham.
At Stand 730, Mecalux will share some of its latest storage solutions, including its new line of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and its DOM system for distributed order management.
Flexible load transport
Mecalux’s new mobile robots are automated vehicles that adapt to their warehouse environments in real time, moving materials autonomously.
Mecalux’s range of AMR models are capable of handling a wide array of loads (from boxes, bins, totes, trays and containers to pallets and shelving). These AMRs streamline internal flows of goods in multiple logistics operations, boosting throughput in all types of warehouses.
Innovation for today’s changing logistics landscape
The company will also use the occasion to showcase the most recent developments of its warehouse management system, Easy WMS. This advanced software program oversees all logistics operations performed in a facility.
Likewise, Mecalux will present its DOM system for distributed order management, developed to enable businesses to respond efficiently to omnichannel demands. This digital solution integrates and synchronises the different supply chain actors (e.g., warehouses, shops and marketplaces, ERP systems, 3PL providers, carriers, call centres, and so on).
Technologies to optimise the supply chain
As part of the event’s scheduled activities, Mecalux will present the session “The cutting-edge technologies powering supply chain optimisation”. The conference — to be held on 19 March at 10:50 a.m. at the Robotics & Automation Theatre — will highlight the supply chain processes that can be automated and the benefits of robotics.
Through success stories of companies such as British Sugar (owner of Europe’s largest sugar processing plants), attendees will discover how technology helps overcome logistics challenges. The leading sugar producer for Great Britain and Ireland has an automated warehouse equipped with Mecalux’s Automated Pallet Shuttle system. Served by stacker cranes, the solution can accommodate up to 4,500 pallets. Through automation, the company has achieved its desired work rate. It can now ship 1,500 pallets a day containing finished products to its customers in the UK and Europe.
