“The most important week of the year for professionals who manage and optimise supply chains in the UK.” That is the motto of IMHX 2022, the country's leading intralogistics trade fair that brings together global suppliers of supply chain solutions every two years.
At this year's edition, which will take place from 6 to 8 September at the NEC in Birmingham, Mecalux will present its extensive catalogue of automated solutions that maximise warehouse performance (stand 5E80). The multinational will also unveil the latest developments in its warehouse management software, Easy WMS, which coordinates and organises all logistics processes.
Automation and digitalisation for logistics
The automated storage systems of Mecalux, a global provider of intralogistics solutions, multiply the productivity of operations, adapting to all types of logistics environments and needs.
Mecalux's technological solutions include the automatic Pallet Shuttle system, an example of maximum throughput for the warehouse: it is a storage solution that replaces forklifts with automatic handling equipment ─such as stacker cranes or transfer cars─ that carries an electric shuttle with the load in its cradle. The system, following the orders of the Mecalux software, automatically introduces the Pallet Shuttle into the storage channels to deposit the load, achieving a significant increase in the number of cycles per hour.
Mecalux also provides its customers with Easy WMS warehouse management software. The programme, included for the second consecutive year in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for WMS, is scalable, with an intuitive interface and accessible via SaaS. Easy WMS manages the tasks of operators and automated equipment to achieve maximum efficiency in logistics processes.
This is the case at Intersurgical's facility in Wokingham (UK). The multinational, which manufactures medical-hospital equipment, has implemented Easy WMS to cope with business growth: "We installed Easy WMS to easily respond to new demands and market changes. This WMS allows us to take inventory in real time, which is vital considering that we sell medical equipment and that it must be stored in specific conditions to guarantee its quality," says Charles Bellm, managing director of the company.
Mecalux in the United Kingdom
In recent years, Mecalux has consolidated its position as one of the main suppliers of technological solutions for storage and logistics software in the British market. The multinational has designed and implemented intralogistics solutions for companies in all types of industries and sectors, such as ALPLA, Churchill China, Decathlon, Dwell DFS, Hepco Motion and Intersurgical, among others.
